Stress Management
Stress management encompasses techniques intended to equip a person with effective mechanisms for dealing with stress. Stress is defined as a person's emotional and physiological response to an internal or external stimulus that triggers the fight-or-flight response. Stress management techniques teach how to recognize and reduce stress. By gaining an insight into the root or core of the problem, counselors help in either removing the stressful situation or cause, or assist the individual to explore ways to adapt to the stressful situation in a healthy manner. |
