Ozone Therapy

Ozone has been used in medicine for almost 100 years. It is literally a form of oxygen, but instead of being O2, it is O3 (with a 3rd oxygen atom added to the molecule). It is a highly reactive substance and works wonderfully in clearing out toxins. It is made in the “ozone layer” in the atmosphere and then gently drops down into the lower air layers helping to clean out the air we breathe. The “fresh smell” that you get after a thunderstorm is ozone from the lightning reacting with the oxygen in the air.

In medicine, ozone is used in many ways, most commonly with a procedure called “Major Autohemotherapy” in which some blood is withdrawn from the body, ozonated, then put back in the body through an IV. Other forms or ozone therapy include insufflation, subcutaneous or intramuscular injection (see Prolozone), and joint injection.

Ozone works wonderfully to kill bacteria, viruses, yeast, fungi, etc, as well as helping to increase the oxygen level in the blood. Millions of treatments have been given worldwide and there are numerous articles in the medical literature on its use in numerous medical conditions.
